The Olympics Weekend..
First Round: Marathon - A race from Ascalon City To Sanctum Cay, with stops in each major outpost. A timer can be on screen so people can submit screens of themselves and their best times. 50g to enter the race The winner takes all.
Second Round: Test Of Strength - You have to attack one of the suits of straw armour that are on the Battle Isles to find out who can hit the hardest in melee
Third round: Rangers Shooting Range - Make the ranger attack a first person mode and you've got to hit targets in the field... This might be asking a much bit though.
These ideas haven't been thought through entirely but you get the gist of it.

I don't want ANet to waste a single minute of work on content that has a very limited lifetime. If there 's one thing I don't needs it's yet another useless piece of gimmick headgear. I'd much rather see ANet put the work into future campaigns content, which is permanent. Spend the time and work to fix the things that really matter. Like "trade improvements", for example, to stop the damn trade spam, finally, long overdue.
Gaile explicitely asked for "smaller events". Just change a few game parameters on the server, leave it like that for a weekend, and put it back to default. A minimum of work for some extra fun.

"Land of the Giants" or "Honey, I shrunk the Heroes!" for pure silly factor. Everything becomes either super huge or super small, or maybe super wide and super thing... based off which special item you use Dunno how hard that would be to implement.

Yes I realised that after I posted. Hence maybe something a little more in depth that could be worked on every now and then. It wouldn't be every other weekend event but when it does arrive it's more than just "double your stats"
Also, I was under the impression there were 3 teams at Anet. One for each alternating chapter and one team for new content/events and such? What happened, that last team been removed?

not sure if gaile pays attention to this thread anymore.. but i was thinking about having one item drop from any monster anywhere in either tyra or cantha..
these items would have only a set number to drop.. like 1000 or so.. and you can only farm 1 then your char no longer gets a drop assigned to him...
but instead of saying where they drop.. you could make up riddles and put them in the scribe on your webpage..
these items could have skins that are completly uniqe.. and they could be called "legendary items"
and with only one riddle/weapon per week you would have a ton of time to make a new one before the next week...
Not only would these items stimulate the economy because unlike crystalines and dwarvens that are pretty much only found in perfect rare condition chests in ha..
These items anyone could go and farm for... and even the casual gamer could get in on one of the weeks farming.. and hard core gamers could try to get them all...
lets say there is a riddle that leads to the kryta mission and one of the bosses in it.. well when people finally figure out the riddles.. they can go and hunt for the item.
hope you like it.. this is the only idea i can come up with that dosent make the game into a "give you everything you want easy" game

Drunken Suicidal Maniac Weekend:
Double the efforts of drinking alcoholic content and making special weekend only beverages. (Octoberfest Style)
Adding New Titles for Deaths:
5 Tiers:
Tier 1: Attempted Suicider - 500 Deaths
Tier 2: Suicidal - 1,000 Deaths
Tier 3: Suicidal Maniac - 2,000 Deaths
Tier 4: Walking Corpse - 5,000 Deaths
Tier 5: Undead - 10,000 Deaths (Max-level)
I've thought of some commemorative Octoberfest Hat too to add to the ceremony, where Grenth could hand out hats for guys and Dwayna hats for girls.
If you're just looking for a small weekend, I suggest adding collector's of unused items (Such as Drops in FoW, UW) their prizes should be alcoholic beverages.
Or add a special game, 6 vs 6 Dodgeball basically, but with a scores chart, awarding the top players and the worst players for their efforts with a Title:
Avenger Title Track
Avenger: 100 Kills
Murderer: 500 Kills
Assassin: 1,500 Kills
? ? ? - Future Events?
Or a Champion Title Track Event, so 1 GvG would double the Points and Battles from 1,100 Rating Vs 1,100 Rating would count.
Or a Double-Faction Weekend, With the Chance of Playing 16 Vs 16 in Alliance Battles and being able to unlock some Nightfall Skills.
Or making a Special weekend for people getting their Identification Title Track and Chest Hunter title track, by doubling the amount of opened chests or Adding a 25% Chance to have 2 items to come out of a Chest.
A weekend where quest rewards could have 1 random Dye as a special prize, except for the repeatable ones, and harder quest 2 random Dyes.
Also Running Contests, With Special Slowing Skills on Tracks, Special Running Skills so the best Players win Most matches.
- Marathon Man Title Track
50 Matches Won - Rusher
100 Matches Won - Runner
250 Matches Won - Speedfreak
500 Matches Won - Marathon Man (Max-level)
Also Adding Cookies for some sort of reward, it's always the same, someone says, LF Boon Prot For GvG, We Have Cookies, and once you arrive, they don't, so I really really REALLY suggest cookies, with the possibility of adding some effects, such as speed boosts, dp removal, extra health, healing item, etc etc.
Having a Town with Arenas, where one can play the 'roll-dice' games & the 'Rock, Paper, Scissors' Games, to proceed on their Lucky Title Track, +3 When Won +2 When Draw -2 When Lost - Teams of course Randomly Made.
That's about it for my ideas, If anyone has something to say, quote this & tell me what you think about these

I can agree with adding more titles:
e.G Deaths,
Killings,
online time,
killed bosses,
one if you have all materials in your storage, ...
Events:
- double ecto and shard drops
- double green drops
- add aucion house ^^ (never ending event!!!)

Opened Alpha Servers for everyone!
Best Close down all PVE parts on em to get PVP working. UAX'ed for the Weekend ofc.. .
Maybe would be a nice to see how it would be with permanent open alpha servers... Best chance tbh.

ascended pre-sear weekend: make a special version of pre-sear ascalon accessible for lvl20 characters (separate from the regular pre-sear). just add 20 to the monster level....
historic guild wars weekend: fire up some server instances of the e34e version (i miss kyhlo)

1) Triple Faction Forever! If not, make it a Weekend. Forget Double, let's go further. Add Flames of Balthazar, make allowances in trading Faction for Gold, too.
2) Double Experience Weekend. Double the effect of Scrolls, the amount of Experience gained for kills, and the like.
3) 6 Man Heroes Ascent, Double Fame - preferably forever, but another weekend would work.
4) Fun Ladder Weekend! Give a prize out to the winner - something small, so not a Gold cape, but worth it. Preferably let people test out any changes that may be coming in the game, so it's kind of like a BWE except without actually finding bugs (hopefully). Double the Faction gained.
5) Nightfall Test Weekend(s). Let people play around with the new classes. Again, double Faction, Flames of Balthazar, and Faction transferable into Gold would be nice.
6) Better Chest Rewards - across all of Guild Wars. Make all Chests have a higher chance of wielding Gold for a weekend. Including Tyria, please.
7) Arena Weekend. Double Faction, Flames of Balthazar, Gold for Faction, and extra Gladiator Points.
Ideally I'd like to see most of these being permanent changes, but I know that's unlikely

Bunnies what flee and drop eggs. Then small chance that they drop valuable Gold Egg and collector gives 1K from each gold egg and 100 gold from other eggs. Possibly to eg towns.

I only recall a dev saying that they just recently established a task force for mini events. But I guess that is a VERY small team, with only a handful of people. Their main job isn't to create new content, only to come up with ideas and check if they are feasible, i.e. it has to be made sure that no extensive abuse of a mini event is possible.

I would like:
-some sort of weekend in which you would have groups of 6 in HA instead of 8, maybe something with double fame as well.
-a HA double fun weekend with smaller groups and bigger fame awards.
maybe something similar for GvG lol not sure if that wouldn't mess up the ladder entirely
/unsign on any ideas for 12v12 or 16v16 pvp since it would be totally chaotic, allow for rediculous spike builds, and for PUG's it would go from improbable to impossible to find a group.

1. I would like to see more done centered around getting new people playing HA. There are alot of PvE people that just dont get a chance to play HA, but might have always wanted to try it.
Disable the Rank emotes and give everyone a chance. The way it is set up now it is an elitist club and shuns the player that might not have the right connections or emote to learn HA and play there.
2. Choose your dance emote weekend, my warrior has always wanted to dance like napolean dynamite.
3. Switch your main profession weekend, make it so a player can switch main professions and have the same level of armor, runes etc...that they do on there character right now.
Been a Guild Wars fan since beta, keep up the great work everyone.
